Cydonia is an all analog, all germanium, harmonic overdrive generator and booster. Featuring 13db of clean boost, plus 9db of harmonic gain, and over 25db when combined. The harmonic distortion from Cydonia is even-order dominant, and has a smooth pleasing quality. This is a low compression device, with a very open and natural response. Consider Cydonia a harmonic exciter and sweetener, overflowing with richness without adding an unnatural layer to your sound. Inspired by vintage germanium pedals of the past, Cydonia is built with vintage AC128 germanium transistors, vintage capacitors, and is hand soldered and hand wired using cloth wire. The unique circuit is like a lost vintage artifact from an alternate universe.
Harmonic Multiplier
Cydonia was designed for two main use-cases. You can use it to boost a hot tube amp, bringing out new response characteristics and textures that are truly inspiring. When using it like this, with lower Gain settings and higher Boost, Cydonia automatically tames bass frequencies as you increase boost volume. Using the Treble control, you can shift more towards a treble boost, or mid boost. You can also use Cydonia as a harmonic sweetener, with higher Gain settings and lower Boost settings, to give added dimension and amp-like harmonics to your sound. The real trick however, is to use all three interactive controls to find your perfect sound.
Artifact Found in Mars Pyramid?
Named after the area on Mars which features the famous pyramid and “Face on Mars”, Cydonia features Martian language engraved into its black powder-coated metal panels. The enclosure is a precision machined custom design, which is then hand polished to a mirror finish. The knobs are custom made, based on rare vintage parts and each one is unique in its hand-poured color swirl. Bypass indication is presented through a custom glass indicator, which has been cracked using a special process, providing a diffusion pattern unique to each pedal. The back panel features a hand-stamped number plate and signature. Your Cydonia will arrive in a custom locally made velvet bag, housed in a custom, stained wooden pine box.
